Simple exercises such as walking can be done 1 week after the surgery.
Collective games and sports that require effort can be started later.
Sports activities that require weight lifting should be avoided.
You can swim with your head out, without diving.
If you are going to ride a bicycle, be careful.
Parks and areas where children play with the ball should be avoided.
Care should be taken if a baby or child is to be picked up, as it may cause a blow without realizing it.
2 days after the operation, you can take a shower with your head back. You can take a comfortable shower after 1 week.
1st, 3rd and 6th month and 1st-year controls should not be interrupted.
Dressing: Tampons, if any, are removed the next day. The plaster is removed on the fifth day.
Stitches: If open rhinoplasty is performed, the nasal tip sutures are removed together with the plaster on the fifth day.
It is normal for a light red liquid to come out of your nostrils in the first week after the surgery.
It is natural to have bruises around your eyes and swelling on your face in the first week. To avoid this, you need to lie down with your head up. During the day, prefer to sit or stand rather than lie down. You can watch TV and spend time in front of the computer, but be careful that it is not so much that it tires your eyes. Also, if you feel good, it's okay to go out.
Do not apply ice to your face unless otherwise told.
Please take a shower 48 hours after the operation unless your doctor tells you otherwise. Make sure the water is not too hot, warm or colder than warm. Use soap and shampoo. There is no harm in touching the nasal splint with water. After the shower, you can dry it by making small touches with a towel or dry your splint with a hairdryer.
When cleaning your nose, first wash your nose with the spray given to you. Then, lubricate the seams that your doctor has shown on your nose with the cream with an ear stick. Please do not clean the bottom of your nose with a swab without your doctor telling you.
Sneezing does not harm your nose. However, it can cause nosebleeds. If you sneeze too much, you can sneeze by closing your eyes, tilting your head slightly forward and pressing your tongue firmly against your palate. If the sneezing sensation does not go away, sneeze through your mouth.
For 6-8 weeks after your surgery, snot, bloody, dry crusts may come from your nostrils piece by piece. Do not do anything extra to clean them. Keep using your cream and spray as long as these come back. Before going to bed at night, squeeze a chickpea-sized amount of cream into both nostrils and inhale strongly. When you get up in the morning, clean your nose by blowing it gently without squeezing it.
Your smell may not be the same for 6-12 weeks after the surgery. It will automatically return to normal.
Up to 3-6 months, there may be asymmetries in your nostrils, numbness at the tip of the nose, and excess skin at the place where the nasal bone is removed (back of the nose). Consult your doctor for the necessary massages for these. Please do the massages recommended by your doctor, not those recommended by your friends and relatives. If your doctor did not recommend massage, he did not recommend it because you forgot it, but because you did not need it.
In the first 3 months after the operation, from time to time, you may experience nasal congestion and breathing problems, dryness in the nose, swelling and numbness of the tip of your nose when you get up in the morning.
Consult your doctor at the earliest at 3 months to use sunglasses or any other glasses. However, this does not mean that you can use it in the 3rd month.
Feel free to touch your nose. Acne may appear on your skin for 3-6 weeks after the operation. Please clean them with suitable PH soaps and facial cleansing gels. You cannot have skincare in the form of tightening before 3 months.
Excessive sun, Turkish bath, sauna, and solarium are not recommended for 3 months after the operation. It is okay to take a warm bath whenever you want.
Avoid hard blows to your nose for 3 months.
During the first 6 months after the surgery, there will be changes in the shape of your nose, the nose will sit and return to a more natural state. Especially in the early period, you should be not affected by the comments made by your surroundings about your nose. You will see the change in the pictures you send.
